Joan Benoit Samuelson made history when she became the first woman to win gold running a marathon at the Olympics. For this piece, I teamed up with Abbott’s marketing team to tell Joan’s story for the Boston marathon. I organized and worked closely with a team of freelancers in Tokyo, scheduled all interviews in Tokyo, gained clearances for production crew in Tokyo for the Tokyo marathon, remotely directed on-site production crew in Maine for Joanie’s interview and BRoll, and edited the final piece.
